With the introduction of the iPhone 15 series on September 12, the new iPhone series also became a matter of curiosity. It was not surprising that iPhone 16 news started to come while the iPhone 15 series had not even been fully reviewed yet – iPhone 15 leaks started to come after the iPhone 14 introduction – but it was not expected to be this fast. According to the latest news, Apple will make a surprising move in the iPhone 16 series. Here are the details…
There will be no A17 processor in iPhone 16! Get ready for A18!
According to analyst Jeff Pu, who makes strong predictions about Apple supply chain and hardware, we will not see an old-generation processor in the iPhone 16 series. As you know, Apple liked to use the Pro Max processor of the previous generation in the base version of the last generation in the latest iPhone series. So, when you bought one of the base models of the iPhone 14 and iPhone 15 series, your phone would have the processor of the previous year.
However, according to analyst Jeff Pu, this situation is now changing with the iPhone 16 series. In his statement and report, Pu stated that we will not see the A17 Pro processor with the iPhone 16 series and that the series will directly start with the A18. In addition, he added to his report the prediction that the chips will be produced with TSMC’s second generation 3nm process “N3E”. These reports actually highlight an important point about the A17 Pro processor.
Considering the predictions made by Pu, Apple’s A17 Pro processor represents a transition from TSMC’s first generation 3nm process “N3B” processors to the second generation 3nm process “N3E” processors. In short, the A17 Pro processor appears as a transition generation for the iPhone series. An official statement on the subject has not yet been made by Apple, and it is not expected to come in the near future. We can say that everything is very new for iPhone 16.
